About us

The place where books turn into journeys

We look at the world from a place that honours the making and holds the work sacred. We look for the worth of a word not only in bestseller lists but in the right hearts.

We do not stand where trade rules but at that unseen place where the voice of the one who writes meets the conscience of the one who reads. For we believe: worth comes neither from the system nor from the shop window — worth comes from those who make and those who feel.

Neither shelves nor sales strategies decide what publishing is. The true worth lies in that quiet, genuine bond between the inner voice of the writer and the heart of the reader.

Behind every work there is usually a lonely desk, long nights and a courage turned inward. We hold that courage sacred: without those who share their pen, and those who carry words in their hearts, neither trade nor system would remain.

Publishing is not a business to us but a responsibility — not the name of a competition but of a bridge built out of work.

We believe in only this:
Let the voice of the maker be heard, and the voice of the reader echo.

For worth, to us, comes about most of all between those two voices. The power lies with the one who writes, the meaning with the one who reads. What counts is not that a book stands on a shelf but that it finds a place in a heart. Publishing, to us, is not spreading a text but sharing a feeling.

We walk our way with an understanding of publishing that shares rather than takes over, that accompanies rather than directs. What matters to us is not that a book is printed but that it lives. The road is worth as much to us as the people who walk it with us.

In every book there is a little courage, a little hope and a great deal of work. We bear witness to that work and let that hope grow. For a book lives not because it was made but because it touched a heart, woke a mind and opened a way for a dream.

Our team

Yazardan Direkt is not a system but a place of work

Meet the team of Yazardan Direkt. Behind every published book stands a team that respects the word, believes in the road and thinks together with the one who writes.

Bihter Şahin

General coordination

Bihter Şahin

She leads every phase of the publishing process with care and a far-sighted coordination.

I am Bihter.

For me this work has never been only publishing. When someone holds out to you something that comes from inside them, that has always touched me as a serious thing. So when someone writes to us, my attention does not go first to the text — but to the person behind it.

That is exactly what troubled me years ago. People come with something that comes from their heart, and in so many places they are treated as a file. In me that feeling always worked differently. When someone brings me something, what I feel in it first is trust — a thing entrusted.

I am open. I come close quickly. I do not care for manufactured distance. Around my life, as around people, I build no high walls. Perhaps that is why I cannot help taking someone seriously when they bring a piece of themselves along.

An author is not simply someone who writes. Sometimes behind a book there is a pain nobody knows about. Sometimes a courage put off for years. Sometimes the version of someone who came late to their own voice.

When you write to us, I want you to feel this: here you do not simply get a reply. Here you get a real response.

Büşra Şahin

Head of editing

Büşra Şahin

She brings a strong editorial eye that sees not only the language of a text but also its meaning.

I am Büşra.

I work with texts, yes. But really I work more with voices. Whether an author's voice is truly in its place, whether that inner tremor is lost while the sentence grows stronger — that is where I look most.

For some texts get better in craft while their soul stays behind. That is the thing I cannot accept. A text can gather itself, grow stronger, grow clearer; but if in the end it still does not belong to the one it came from — then something is missing there.

I am not easily distracted. I look quietly. Sometimes what holds me most in a sentence is what was never written. Where the breath broke off, where the feeling withdrew, where the voice was hurt... I think my reading begins a little there too.

Here we do not only try to make a text “correct”. We try to strengthen it — not against the one it belongs to, but together with them.

When your manuscript comes to us, it should not feel gone through — but understood.

Bilgehan Pullukcu

Author management & publishing coordination

Bilgehan Pullukcu

I am Bilgehan.

I am calm. But calm does not mean distance to me — quite the opposite, it is a pause taken in order to listen better. I trust my intuition. Without words I often sense where an author is stuck, where their courage broke, where they simply need a short rest.

On the long road from the idea to the book I am at our authors' side. So that they can move on — without losing themselves, without losing the thread, without losing heart. When most people hear “coordination” they think of processes — I think of people.

It was one of our dear authors who brought me into this family. In that moment I understood how open my heart is to new stories, and where I feel strongest. That is why I am here.

When I am not working I spend time with my son and my daughter. Every moment with them reminds me that the most precious things grow without hurry.

When an author comes to us, this is how I want to receive them: calmly, warmly, safely. As if to say: “You are not too late — we can begin from here.” It does not matter what stage your manuscript is at. I am already here.

Sibel Çağlar

Author consulting

Sibel Çağlar

She accompanies authors through the whole way of making and preparing, and shows them the road.

I am Sibel.

I am usually at people's side when they are at their most fragile. When nothing is settled yet. When someone does not yet know how to look at what they have written. When they are still going back and forth between “Shall I send it, or wait a while?”

I take that moment very seriously. For most of the time it is not only about the book. Sometimes what someone is really deciding is whether to show themselves or not. Sharing a text can be more personal than we think.

I am not one to push. I do not try to make anyone open up through pressure. I know that a person has to settle before they can really speak. Sometimes the greatest thing you can give someone is not pace — but room.

An author is not received here with “let us see what they have sent”. Least of all at the first step. For the first step is sometimes harder than the text itself.

When you get in touch with us, I do not want it to feel like an application — but as though someone had quietly kept a place for you.

Erinç Şahin

Digital reach & social media

Erinç Şahin

I am Erinç.

I am curious — and in me that is not a trait but a trade. I want to understand how everything works. Why does a story move people? Why does a book reach the wrong readers? Why does an idea never become a book? These questions set me thinking — and they do not let go until I have answers.

In the digital world I am a book's voice. I see to it that, once it is written, the right people find you. Beyond that — I am a bit of a wild card. Wherever there is a gap, wherever someone asks “who does this?”, I am there.

I chose this work when I realised what stories do to people. That moment when a book reaches the right person — making that connection — compares to nothing else.

In my free time you will find me outdoors. Walking, on the bike, or looking something up. Learning is how I rest.

If you want to tell your story — we can begin together. It does not matter where you are standing now.

Neşe Siyamoğlu

Typesetting & pre-press

Neşe Siyamoğlu

She leads design, typesetting and every technical step before printing, professionally.

I am Neşe.

I am usually in the place that cannot be seen. When something is invisible and yet everything is in its place — there is usually good work in there.

I work so that your manuscript does not fall apart on its way to becoming a book, does not thin out, does not grow careless. For how a book turns out depends not only on what it tells — but on how it is carried. And sometimes it is in exactly that unseen place that someone is shown respect.

I am careful. But not in that hard, oppressive way. More in the way that settles a person inside. When everything is in its place, a very quiet but very strong feeling of trust sometimes comes about.

We do not treat any detail here as small. For sometimes a detail is the quietest way of telling an author: “your work matters to me.”

You do not have to follow every step. But I want you to know one thing: your work will not be lost here.

Arzu Özen Çakır

Finance & accounting

Arzu Özen Çakır

She runs every financial process transparently and carefully, from payments to reporting, and keeps the commercial side safely on course.

I am Arzu.

My side of things is mostly numbers, records, order. Seen from outside that may look far from feeling. But if you ask me, the deepest part of trust is built a little here as well.

For people love fine words, yes. But to settle properly, things have to run cleanly somewhere. Disorder wears you out. Vagueness closes a person in. Clarity, by contrast, usually settles you quietly.

I like clarity. Not things patched together afterwards, but things open from the start. An order in which everyone knows how things work and is at ease inside.

We build trust here not through warmth alone. Also through correctness. Also through transparency. Also through soundness.

Even where there are numbers, a person can feel looked after. That is exactly what is valuable to me.

Graphic design & illustration

What our authors say

Seda Ulu
When my road as an author began, I was very unsure about publishers. I believe the right publisher carries you forward in your own career with sure steps. My aim was always to go out into the world — and Yazardan Direkt was the best choice for me. My books appear in Turkish and in English all over the world, and I am glad to have such a hard-working team behind me. For guiding me rightly at every step, I thank them.
Şeyda Bülbül
Yazardan Direkt is a publisher you can trust: warm, hard-working and experienced. You feel as though you are in a family, the texts are read with care and the book reaches everyone it should reach. I would advise you to join this warm, open-hearted family soon and become one of them.
Serkan Elmas
My first book, «The Eighth Floor of My Memory», came into the world with Yazardan Direkt at the right door, inside that hidden order which time, words and coincidences carry with them. They were not only a publisher: they gave me a space, a breath. They did not merely turn the lines from my notebooks into a book, they gave them a soul. From the design to the feeling, from the title to the paper, we thought through every detail together and carried it together. If this book is in your hands today, then know that the key to that eighth floor was also kept a little in the heart of Yazardan Direkt.
Tamer Sandal
The hardest thing for me as an author was the first step. For the works we make are at the same time our feelings and the voices of our inner world. That is exactly why the first thing one looks for is trust. Yazardan Direkt gave more than that: a warm, family-like place of people who love their work and have clean hearts. And for that very reason you are worth a great deal to me, not only as an author but as a person. I am glad you exist, and glad that I set out on this road with you.
Hilal Yalçıntaş Simitçi
«The Little Cone That Fell From Its Tree» had set out and was looking for its direction. It was looking for the right key to the door that leads into its own fairy tale. Then its road crossed that of Yazardan Direkt. It took its key, turned it in the door — and so the enchanting adventure began.
